SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald R. Pfau of Spring Grove, who passed away on February 3, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Donald Pfau was born in Mt. Vernon, New York on March 31, 1933 to Carl and Barbara (nee Lichtengger) Pfau; he married Martha Smith on September 11, 1954 in Cambria Heights, New York; he served as a Lieutenant Colonel with the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars; and

WHEREAS, Donald Pfau was a commercial airline pilot with United Airlines for 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Donald Pfau was a member of the Masons; he was an avid hunter who was proud of his extensive gun collection; he enjoyed traveling, especially to Africa, and working on his farm; he also enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends; and

WHEREAS, Donald Pfau was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, and his sister, Barbara Brown; and

WHEREAS, Donald Pfau is survived by his 2 sons, Scott (Rose) Pfau and Douglas (Renee) Pfau; his 5 grandchildren, Christa (Paul) Goggin, Jayson (Jeanine) Pfau, William (fiance Tasha) Pfau, Regina (Greg) Albertson, and Karen (Jeremy) Lamz; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Donald R. Pfau, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Pfau as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
