SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Leonard J. "Len" Sieracki of McHenry, who passed away on February 2, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Leonard Sieracki was born in Chicago on October 10, 1953 to Leonard J. and Vera (nee Wurbia) Sieracki; he was raised in the Jefferson Park area of Chicago and graduated from Weber High School in 1971; on March 3, 1973, he married Maria Elena Batka; and

WHEREAS, Leonard Sieracki was employed by Allstate Insurance in Northbrook for 30 years, working in the area of project management; for the past 3 years, he was employed by Transunion in Chicago as a Senior Analyst; and

WHEREAS, Leonard Sieracki was an avid reader; he was passionate about military history and enjoyed doing research at area libraries, learning about some of the less publicized, but nonetheless important, battles in history; he enjoyed traveling and was most happy when he could combine a sightseeing trip across the country with visiting family; and

WHEREAS, Leonard Sieracki was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Leonard Sieracki is survived by his wife of 41 years, Maria; his 4 daughters, Dawn (Nathan) Isaacs, Kim (Tim) Parks, Nikki (Ryan) Gebfert, and Kathy (Dee Labao) Sieracki; his 3 grandchildren, Emma, Violet, and Elanor Parks; his sister, Paula (Tom) Medsker; and many cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Leonard J. Sieracki, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, his friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Leonard Sieracki as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
