SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Benjamin Allison of Crystal Lake, who
4passed away on January 27, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Benjamin Allison was born in Royal Oak, Michigan
6on July 26, 1994 to Timothy E. and Melissa A. (nee Smith)
7Allison; he took an active interest in hockey at the age of 3,
8and at age of 4, he started playing hockey in Birmingham,
9Michigan; in 2005, the family moved to Crystal Lake where he
10started the sixth grade; he played hockey for the Barrington
11Red Wings for a year, and then for the Crystal Lake Leafs until
12entering high school; at Crystal Lake South High School, he was
13a member of the hockey team, graduating in 2012; following high
14school, he followed his passion and played for the Dells Ducks;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Benjamin Allison attended McHenry County
17Community College in 2013 and became an assistant hockey coach
18at Crystal Lake South; in the fall of 2014, he enrolled at
19Illinois State University (ISU) in Normal, majoring in
20broadcast communications; he was chosen to be a radio
21personality at ISU and had recently been promoted to assistant
22director for the traffic department at WZND Radio; and

1    WHEREAS, Benjamin Allison was a member of the USA Hockey
2Development Program and refereed hockey games; he enjoyed his
3family, friends, hedgehogs, and playing his X-Box; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Benjamin Allison is survived by his parents; his
5grandparents, Steve (Maureen) Smith and Fred M. Allison;
6several aunts, uncles, cousins; and his girlfriend, Melissa
7Warder; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Benjamin Allison, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Benjamin Allison as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
