SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Christian Eugene "Gene" Trummel of
4Crystal Lake, who passed away on January 3, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gene Trummel was born in Macon County on December
61, 1925 to Lewis Henry and Nellie May (nee Groves) Trummel; he
7served in the United States Navy during World War II; he
8graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Gene Trummel was a CPA in Terre Haute for over 40
11years; he was a founding partner of Sackrider & Company in
12Terre Haute and was very active in the American Institute of
13CPAs; he was a former Terre Haute City Councilman; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Gene Trummel was a 32nd Degree Mason of Terre
15Haute Lodge #19 Free and Accepted Masons, active in the Ancient
16Accepted Order of Scottish Rite, and earned his 50-year pin as
17an active member of Zorah Shrine; he was also a member of the
18Kiwanis, Elks Lodge #86, and the First Congregational Church of
19Terre Haute; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Gene Trummel was preceded in death by his wife of
2151 years, Jane Louise Snyder, and his wife of 10 years, Louise

1Irene Cheek; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Gene Trummel is survived by his 2 children,
3Christian (Chris) E. Trummel, Jr. and wife, Betty, and Sarah J.
4Mattick and husband, Jim; his grandchildren, Matthew Trummel
5(Cassie), Scott Trummel, Patrick Minnaert, Ryan Trummel, Julie
6Mandolini-Trummel, Linda Trummel, and Jimmy, Justin, Heidi,
7and Hayden Mattick; and his 3 great-grandchildren, Austin
8Trummel and Jackson and Ella Trummel; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Christian Eugene Trummel, and extend our sincere condolences to
12his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Gene Trummel as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
