SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Janice Phyllis Lane of Johnsburg, who
4passed away on December 4, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Janice Lane was born to John and Emelia (Siirila)
6Zapuscienski on December 17, 1939; in high school, she was the
7class secretary and received the DAR Award; she graduated from
8the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in
9education in 1962 and married Richard Lane at First United
10Methodist Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin on June 9, 1962; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Janice Lane was a teacher for the Johnsburg School
12District for many years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Janice Lane was a Girl Scout Leader, and active
14with the Red Hat Society, the Jaycettes, and First United
15Methodist Church in McHenry; she enjoyed reading and doing
16crossword puzzles; she loved to travel, especially to Door
17County, Wisconsin, but her favorite times were those spent with
18her family and friends; she was an avid fan of the Green Bay
19Packers and the Chicago Cubs; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Janice Lane was preceded in death by her parents
21and her daughter, Christine Elizabeth; and

1    WHEREAS, Janice Lane is survived by her loving husband of
254 years, Richard; her children, Sue (Dan) Wasik, Amy Lane,
3Cindy (David) Weston, and Kathy Lane (Mark Hutchison); and her
4grandchildren, Nick, Patrick, Andy, Jon, Maddie, Ella, Sofia,
5Paige, Zach, and Harriet; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Janice Phyllis Lane, and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Janice Lane as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
