SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Elizabeth Lorraine "Betty" Walker of
4Johnsburg, who passed away on October 28, 2016 at the age of
588; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Walker was born in Chicago to Robert
7Emmett and Clara (Vacha) Gorman on June 9, 1928; she married
8Charles A. Walker in Chicago on July 19, 1980; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Walker received her Bachelor of Arts in
10Education and Master of Arts in Education and Administration
11and was employed in the field of Education for her entire
12career; she served as a principal and administrator for the
13Chicago Public School System for over 30 years; prior to
14retiring, she was principal at Robert Morris Elementary School
15in Chicago; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Walker was a faithful parishioner of St.
17John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Walker was preceded in death by her
19parents; and her husband, Charles A. Walker; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Walker is survived by her sister, Mary

1Ann (the late Peter) Spelson; her nephews and nieces, Gregory
2(Lisa) Spelson, Katherine Spelson, Peter Spelson, and Kristine
3(Stephen) Petno; her two great-nieces and a great-nephew,
4Emily, Maria, and James; and her three stepchildren, Charles
5Jr. (Lois) Walker, James (Marietta) Walker, and Mary (Ronald)
6Orzech; and a number of step-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Elizabeth Lorraine
10"Betty" Walker, and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Elizabeth Walker as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
