SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Franklin M. Pease of Crystal Lake, who passed away on November 20, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Pease was born in Worcester, Massachusetts to Charles and Marjorie (Pixley) Pease on June 11, 1923; he grew up in West Springfield, Massachusetts and graduated from West Springfield Massachusetts High School in 1941; he graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; he married Norma Jane Koehler at Calvary Lutheran Church in Chicago on January 29, 1955, and in 1956, he and Norma moved to Crystal Lake; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Pease joined the United States Navy on January 4, 1942; he served for six years during World War II as an Electrician's Mate, First Class on the USS Beaver, a submarine tender which was assigned to both the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and the European-African-Middle East Theaters, along with the USS Cree, a fleet-ocean tug, which was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and American Theater; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Pease was employed by Commonwealth Edison Co. for more than 34 years in many capacities, retiring as a rates administrator; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Pease was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Crystal Lake, American Legion Post 171 of Crystal Lake, and the Masons, Nunda Lodge No. 169 in Crystal Lake; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Pease enjoyed golf, amateur radio, traveling with his wife throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, singing, telling stories, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Pease was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; his parents; his brother, Charles; and his son, Michael Pease; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Pease is survived by his brother, Donald (Audrey) Clark; his daughter, Kathleen Pease; his daughter-in-law, Nicci Pease; his son, Thomas (Dawn) Pease; his daughter, Susan (Tom) Kirstein; his grandchildren, Aurora (Sean), Jeremy, Kerri, Jacob, Zoe, and Samantha; and his great-grandchild, Aiden Michael; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Franklin M. Pease, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Franklin Pease as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
