SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert L. Flemming of Sawyerville, who passed away on December 8, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Robert Flemming was born in Staunton to William and Nettie (Schmutzler) Flemming on December 31, 1925; he served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and married Delores E. DeArmand on January 18, 1947; and

WHEREAS, Robert Flemming worked as a tool and die maker for Echlin Manufacturing in Litchfield; and

WHEREAS, Robert Flemming was a member of the Staunton Sportsmans Club; and

WHEREAS, Robert Flemming was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; his parents; his son, Thomas Flemming; his brother, Wilbert Flemming; and his sister, Lovace Lemke; and

WHEREAS, Robert Flemming is survived by his companion, Phyllis Spurney; his sons, James (Kathy) and Robert (Barbara) Flemming; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert L. Flemming, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Flemming as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
