SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James Stilling of McHenry, who passed away on September 26, 2016; and

WHEREAS, James Stilling was born in Johnsburg to Benjamin and Christina (Meyer) Stilling on December 6, 1926; he married Catherine Sullivan in Wonder Lake on November 12, 1949; he served in the United States Army during World War II from 1945 to 1947; and

WHEREAS, James Stilling worked as a carpenter for George Hiller and Son for 45 years; and

WHEREAS, James Stilling enjoyed playing golf and was a Cub Scout leader for 10 years; his most precious times were those he spent with his family; and

WHEREAS, James Stilling was preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew; his brothers, Raymond, Elmer, Clarence, and Daniel; and his sisters, Rita, Violet, and Lucile; and

WHEREAS, James Stilling is survived by his wife of 67 years, Catherine; his children, James Jr. (Audrey), David (Gina), Kevin, and Thomas; his grandchildren, Joanne (Mike) Skibbe, Toby (Linda), Bridget (Lukasz Rozpadek), Jessica (Adam), Jeremy, and Mike; his great-grandchildren, Brenden, Alex, Ben, Lizzie, Nat, Maggie, Addison, and Jackie; his sister, Carol Thompson; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James Stilling, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Stilling as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
