SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marvin Olson, who passed away on
4September 5, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marvin Olson was born on October 22, 1932 in
6Chicago; he moved to Island Lake when he was seven years old
7and was raised in a small home by his mother; he married Marian
8Springman on September 11, 1954; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Marvin Olson spent his life providing for his
10family by being a carpenter and a contractor; he also owned his
11own business, Mineral Springs Enterprise, and worked around
12northeastern Illinois and McHenry County; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Marvin Olson was a member of Fellowship of Faith
14Church in McHenry since it was chartered; he volunteered for
15many things and was involved in the clown ministry at Zion
16Lutheran Church; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Marvin Olson loved to paint in oils and his
18favorite subjects were barns and landscape; he also loved
19taking pictures, being outdoors, fishing, canoeing, taking
20long walks through the pine trees, and spending time with his
21children and grandchildren; and

1    WHEREAS, Marvin Olson was preceded in death by his mother,
2Lillian Olson; his brothers, Charles Olson and Dick Olson; and
3his sisters, Doris Brooks, Carol Schendel, and Joan Wilcoxon;
4and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marvin Olson is survived by his wife of 62 years,
6Marian; his children, Linda (Darrick) Rosinski, Gary (Karen)
7Olson, and Steve (Kathy) Olson; his grandchildren, Christopher
8(Jamie) Rosinski, Paula (Chris) Devore, Charity (Jesse) Smith,
9Benjamin Olson, Molly Olson, and Kylie Olson; his
10great-grandchildren, Emily Rosinski and Jacob Rosinski; his
11lifelong friends, Jim and Andy Johnson; and many friends in
12McHenry County; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
15family and friends, mourn the passing of Marvin Olson; and be
16it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Marvin Olson as an expression of our
19sympathy.
