SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Philip R. Carlisle of Woodstock, who
4passed away on August 24, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Philip Carlisle was born on June 25, 1948 in
6Woodstock; his parents were James R. and Greta B. Carlisle; he
7married Carol A. Mass on July 24, 1965; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Philip Carlisle was a graduate of St. Mary School
9and attended Marian Central High School; after graduation, he
10went on to trade school for construction and became a very
11well-known general contractor and owner of Carlisle
12Construction Inc.; he built many beautiful homes and was proud
13to have poured the foundation for the Woodstock Band Shell on
14the Woodstock Square; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Philip Carlisle enjoyed music and was a member of
16the band P.M. Express; he enjoyed spending time outdoors,
17fishing, boating, and flying; he held his private pilot license
18for many years; he also loved spending time in Wisconsin at his
19cabin on Squirrel Lake Island and spending time with his loving
20family; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Philip Carlisle was a lifelong member of St. Mary

1Catholic Church in Woodstock; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Philip Carlisle was preceded in death by his
3father; his sons, Robert Carlisle and Timothy Carlisle; his
4brother, Thomas Carlisle; his brothers-in-law, James Berkeimer
5and Richard Nevsimal; and his nephew, Walter Berkeimer; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Philip Carlisle is survived by his loving wife of
751 years, Carol Carlisle; his children, Diana Collins and Ken
8(Val) Carlisle; his granddaughter, Katie Collins; his mother,
9Greta Carlisle; his mother-in-law, Mary Ann Mass; his siblings,
10Dr. Eugene (Phyllis) Carlisle, Mary Berkeimer, and Bernice
11Nevsimal; nine nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces,
12great-nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
15family and friends, mourn the passing of Philip R. Carlisle;
16and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Philip Carlisle as an expression of
19our sympathy.
