SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jeanette Couri of East Peoria, who passed away on March 15, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Couri was born on October 15, 1929 in Peoria; her parents were Thomas and Marianna (nee Mrad) Kouri; she married Thomas Couri on May 4, 1948 in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Couri was a homemaker and a longtime hostess at the Lariat Club in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Couri was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria; she was also a member of the St. Monica's Ladies Guild and the Itoo Society; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Couri was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; a brother, Bernard Kouri; and 3 sisters, Gladys Tony, Margaret LaHood, and Elizabeth Couri; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Couri is survived by 2 sons, Mike (Vickie) Couri and Bob (Kathy) Couri; 8 daughters, Karen (Fred) Clark, Janice (Ray) Martin, Tricia (Jeff) Lambrich, Debra (Bill) Spears, Jeannine (George) Jacob, Beth (Ed) Olehy, Sue Couri, and Cindy (Lester) Behrends; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bernadine Anthony; and 3 brothers, Louis Kouri, Ed Kouri, and Gene Kouri; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Jeanette Couri; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jeanette Couri as an expression of our sympathy.
