SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James G. Ball of Rock Island, who passed
4away on July 20, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Ball was born on April 29, 1932 in
6Belleview; his parents were Ray A. and Leota M. Gill Ball; and
 
7    WHEREAS, James Ball served his country in the United States
8Army during the Korean War; he was discharged at the rank of
9sergeant; and
 
10    WHEREAS, James Ball attended school in Belleview and at
11Pleasant Hill Community High School; and
 
12    WHEREAS, James Ball worked as a truck driver for Kraft
13Foods; he later worked at A.N.R. Trucking and at other
14companies, including Eastern Express; after his retirement, he
15worked at the Milan Manor as a maintenance man; and
 
16    WHEREAS, James Ball had a passion for cars, building them
17and racing the ones he built at the 34 Raceway Park in
18Burlington and the Davenport Fairgrounds; after his marriage to
19Leah Stahl, he enjoyed working as her sound man when she sang
20country and gospel music at various locations in the Midwest;

1he also helped in his neighborhood with repairs and remodeling;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, James Ball was preceded in death by his parents;
4his children, Timothy and Susan; and his grandson, John; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Ball is survived by his wife, Leah; his
6daughters, Lin (Rich) Templeton and Ann Kennison; his
7grandsons, Jeremy, Jacob, and Jordan Lindle and J.T. Crownover;
8his granddaughters, Alison and Haley Crownover; his
9great-granddaughters, Kylee, Penelope, and Eliza Lindle; his
10stepchildren, Cathy Mackay and John Stahl; and his sister,
11Louise Stromberg; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
14family and friends, mourn the passing of James G. Ball; and be
15it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of James Ball as an expression of our
18sympathy.
