SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Norman Bentley Luse of Rock Island, who passed away on July 30, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Norman Luse was born on August 26, 1933 in Moline; his parents were Charles R. and Mary E. Whitehead Luse; he graduated from United Township High School in East Moline and attended Eureka College for two years; and

WHEREAS, Norman Luse served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956; he was later employed by the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring as a warehouseman after 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Norman Luse was a member of First Christian Church in Moline; and

WHEREAS, Norman Luse enjoyed watching college sports, painting, and spending time with his family; he was also a phenomenal artist and loved painting with oils, pencils, and brushes; and

WHEREAS, Norman Luse is survived by his brothers, Charles (Shirley) Luse and Tom (Jan) Luse; his sister, Elvira (Lonard) Blansett; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Norman Bentley Luse; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Norman Bentley Luse as an expression of our sympathy.
