SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of DeWayne E. Spielman of Lake in the Hills, who passed away on July 28, 2016; and

WHEREAS, DeWayne Spielman was born on June 6, 1938 in River Grove; his parents were Wilbur and Evelyn Spielman; he married Rosemarie Milano on May 12, 1962; and

WHEREAS, DeWayne Spielman enlisted in the United States Navy after high school; after marrying, he and his wife made their home in Chicago and later Algonquin; and

WHEREAS, DeWayne Spielman worked as a meat cutter for many years; he was a district manager for National T Foods and later Hi-Neighbor Foods; he was instrumental in assisting Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ in becoming a national name and a barbecue sauce in stores throughout the country; prior to his retirement, he was the buyer for Super Low Foods in Elmwood Park; and

WHEREAS, After retiring in 2011, DeWayne Spielman and his wife moved to Lake in the Hills, where he worked as a starter and ranger for the Golf Club of Illinois in Algonquin; and

WHEREAS, DeWayne Spielman enjoyed golf, bowling, the Chicago Cubs, trips to Las Vegas and the Wisconsin Dells, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, DeWayne Spielman was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and four sisters; and

WHEREAS, DeWayne Spielman is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosemarie; his children, Gregg (Laura) Spielman, Scott (Karen) Spielman, and Nadine (Alan) Stark; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kathryn, John, and Jennifer; his brothers, Donald (Barbara) Spielman, Ronald (Sandy) Spielman, and James (Barbara) Spielman; his sister, Beverly Osiol; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of DeWayne E. Spielman; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of DeWayne Spielman as an expression of our sympathy.
