SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Francis "Bud" Jones of Elwood, who passed away on August 7, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Francis Jones was born and raised in Joliet; he attended St. Patrick's Grade School, Washington Junior High School, and Joliet Catholic High School; and

WHEREAS, Francis Jones worked for the Alexander Lumber Company for 43 years until his retirement in 1999; he was a member of Teamster Local 179; and

WHEREAS, Francis Jones served his community as a member of the Elwood Village Board from 2007 until his death; he was a former Jackson Township Trustee and the former President of the Wyndstone Village Homeowners Association; and

WHEREAS, Francis Jones enjoyed traveling to Ireland, Italy, and Alaska with his wife; he was a devoted Chicago Bears and NASCAR fan and a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet; and

WHEREAS, Francis Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Olsen); his parents, Francis and Mary (Breen); his sister, Kathleen Jones; his uncle, John (Lauretta) Breen; and numerous other aunts and uncles; and

WHEREAS, Francis Jones is survived by his children, William (Annette) Jones and Judge Sarah Jones; his sister, Mary Virginia (Raymond) Sicinski; his brother, Raymond (Marilyn) Jones; his nieces, Laura Ballard and Stephanie (Jeff) Kastelic; his nephews, Michael (Christine) Sicinski, David (Nicole) Jones, and Daniel (Kelly) Jones; his great-nieces and nephews, Abby and Jonathan Sicinski, Ben, Annie, Sam, and Maggie Ballard, Jake, Julia, and Will Kastelic, and Benjamin, Samantha, Anna, and Owen Jones; numerous cousins; his lifelong friend, Norma Baudino; and dedicated friends and neighbors, Peg, Dick, Joan, Ron, and Bob; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Francis "Bud" Jones, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Francis Jones as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
