SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald G. Knowlton of Genoa City, Wisconsin, who passed away on June 27, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Donald Knowlton was born on February 6, 1935 in Barron, Wisconsin; his parents were Duane and Ida Knowlton; he married Mary Beall on October 30, 1955 in Mendota; and

WHEREAS, Donald Knowlton worked as a lineman and service technician for GTE for 43 years until his retirement in 1993; he was also a volunteer fireman for the Richmond Fire Department for over 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Donald Knowlton was a member of the Richmond Lions Club, the Loyal Order of Moose, and the Genoasnowers Snowmobile Club; and

WHEREAS, Donald Knowlton was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; his daughter-in-law, Cindi Knowlton; and his sisters, Charlotte Manning, Janet Blackwell, and Connie Drummer; and

WHEREAS, Donald Knowlton is survived by his sons, Rick (Mariann) Knowlton, Ron (Debra) Knowlton, and Rob (Marcy) Knowlton; his grandchildren, Jennifer Osborne, Brian and Bradley Knowlton, Amanda Cunningham, Gail Beyer, and Donnie, Carrie, and Robbie Knowlton; 13 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Marlene Sloan, Marilyn (Ron) Hopps, Kathie (Kent) Biederstedt, Barb Heinzeroth, and Bev (Jim) Muzzarelli; and his brothers, Delbert (Geneva) Knowlton, Pete (Linda) Knowlton, Bill (Kathy) Knowlton, Kevin (Lori) Knowlton, and Larry (Martha) Knowlton; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Donald G. Knowlton; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Knowlton as an expression of our sympathy.
