SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jean Moser Roth of Rock Island, who passed away on June 17, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Jean Roth was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to Frank E. and Bettie Kountz Moser on May 1, 1922; she served as a nurse in the United States Army during World War II; she married Robert R. Roth in Denver, Colorado on September 27, 1944 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1944 from the University of Missouri; and

WHEREAS, Jean Roth retired in 1984 from the Rock Island/Milan School District #41, where she was a school nurse from 1977 to 1984; she previously worked as an instructor of Student Nurses at St. Anthony's Hospital in Rock Island from 1966 to 1970 and was a Charge Nurse at St. Anthony's from 1947 to 1953; and

WHEREAS, Jean Roth was a member and past elder of Broadway Presbyterian Church in Rock Island; she was also a member of the Broadway Presbyterian Church Circle Woman's Association, the American Red Cross, the American Association of University Women, and the Chapter JI PEO Sisterhood; she was a former leader for the Girl Scouts of America and 4-H and a past member of South Park Presbyterian Church in Rock Island; and

WHEREAS, Jean Roth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; and her daughter, Linda D. Roth; and

WHEREAS, Jean Roth is survived by her children, Philip F. (Landee) Roth and Bette R. (Dennis) Haase; her grandsons, Ryan (Lisa) Roth, Eric (Danielle) Roth, Justin Haase, and Derek Haase; three great-grandchildren; her sisters, Betty M. Price and Donna M. (David) Faust; and her sister-in-law, Dorothea Moser; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jean Moser Roth, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jean Roth as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
