SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ric. Best of Zion, who passed away on May 29, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Ric. Best was born in Waukegan on June 11, 1948 and graduated from North Chicago High School; he served with the United States Navy for four years; and

WHEREAS, Ric. Best was a realtor for over 25 years with Century 21, serving all of the Lake County area; he was also a driving instructor for his family-owned driving school, Best School of Driving; and

WHEREAS, Ric. Best enjoyed riding his motorcycle; he was interested in history and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan; and

WHEREAS, Ric. Best was preceded in death by his father, William H. Best, and his grandparents, George and Vera Best; and

WHEREAS, Ric. Best is survived by his mother, Delores (Erickson) Best; his girlfriend of 20 years, Sandy Engberg; his children, Jennifer (Brad) Leffler, Crystal (Gabriel) Ramirez, and Charo (Jim) Buck; his grandchildren, Breanna (Tony), Gabriel, Alexio, Noah, Arielle, Jimmy, Mason, Jake, and Jaxon; his great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Geni; his siblings, Bruce (Naomi) Best, Sue (Jim) Biederer, David Best, Cindi (Ed) Lasiowski, Julie Warczak, Mark (Linda) Best, and Vicki (David) Russell; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ric. Best, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ric. Best as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
