SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Luther Leroy Wages of Moline, who passed away on May 17, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Luther Wages was born on December 11, 1934, in Iowa City, Iowa; his parents were Oscar R. and Edith Cline Wages; he married Roselee Morrow on July 12, 1958 in Mystic, Iowa; and

WHEREAS, Luther Wages was a veteran, having proudly served as a paratrooper in the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Luther Wages worked as a maintenance welder and machinist for Farmall; he also worked as an over-the-road truck driver for many years until his retirement in 1985; and

WHEREAS, Luther Wages was very passionate about supporting his family in stock car racing and motocross; and

WHEREAS, Luther Wages was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and three brothers; and

WHEREAS, Luther Wages is survived by his wife, Roselee Wages; his children, Rick (Amber) Wages, Randy Wages, Rhonda (Bob) Nees, and Roberta Lynn (Mark) Franklin; his grandchildren, Autumn (Jeff) Stone, Troy (Abbey) Wages, Jessica (Jake) Caudill, Emily and Jered Franklin, and Brennan Wages; his great-grandchildren, Cory, Winter, Taylor, Jack, Lila, Finn, Dominick, and Zy'aierra; and his sister, Alfreda Dover; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Luther Leroy Wages; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Luther Wages as an expression of our sympathy.
