SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph Valdez of McHenry, who passed away on April 23, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Valdez was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Baldomer and Liandia (Padilla) Valdez on October 16, 1948; he served in the United States Navy from 1970 until 1974; he married Lauren Priest in Wheaton on June 15, 1990; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Valdez was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and PLAV in McHenry; he enjoyed fishing, gardening, taking care of his lawn, and being outside on his porch; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Valdez was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers and sisters; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Valdez is survived by his wife, Lauren; his children, Alexander Albert, Joey Jr., Kristina, Yani (Danielle), and Nicole; 10 grandchildren; and 6 brothers and a sister; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joseph Valdez, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph Valdez as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
