SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael Schroeder of Arlington Heights, who passed away on May 8, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Michael Schroeder attended St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights and earned his bachelor's degree, manga cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame; he graduated from University of Illinois Dental School in 1980; and

WHEREAS, Michael Schroeder worked as a dentist and owned Arlington Heights Dental Group, a practice started by his father in 1954; he also volunteered his dental services to Wheeling Township's Mobile Dental Clinic and served on the Northwest Community Hospital Dental Advisory Board; and

WHEREAS, Michael Schroeder has a long, distinguished record of public service; he was Wheeling Township Supervisor from 2001 until March of 2016; he received the 2004 Township Officials of Illinois Supervisor of the Year award; and

WHEREAS, Michael Schroeder was elected as a Trustee to the Arlington Heights Village Board from 1989 to 1992; from 1992 to 1993, he served as acting-Village President; and

WHEREAS, Michael Schroeder is survived by his wife, Cindy, and his two sons and two daughters; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael Schroeder, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Schroeder as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
