| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Dale E. Parsons of Galesburg, who passed | 4 | | away on February 5, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dale Parsons was born on July 6, 1932 to Russell | 6 | | F. and Margaret P. (nee Buchanan) Parsons; beginning at the age | 7 | | of 13, he was raised by Floyd and Louise Lindsey; he graduated | 8 | | from Bardolph High School in 1952; he married Carolyn McGinn on | 9 | | June 25, 1966 in Camp Grove; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dale Parsons spent 40 years in the shoe and | 11 | | clothing retail business, owning Dale Parsons, Ltd. in Lacon | 12 | | from 1975 to 1979; he then served as Executive Director of the | 13 | | Stone-Hayes Center for Independent Living in Galesburg; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Dale Parsons was a member of Corpus Christi Roman | 15 | | Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree, Past | 16 | | Grand Knight, and Trustee), and the Knox County Board; he | 17 | | served with the Knox County Nursing Home Committee, the Highway | 18 | | Committee, the Knox County Housing Authority, the Boys and | 19 | | Girls Club of Knox County, the Carver Community Action Agency, | 20 | | and the Prairie Hill Resource Conservation Development | 21 | | Council; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Dale Parsons was preceded in death by his parents; | 2 | | his 4 brothers, Russell F. Parsons, Jr., Robert Lee Parsons, | 3 | | Charles Allan Parsons, and Larry Parsons, Sr.; and his sister, | 4 | | Donna Jean Parsons; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dale Parsons is survived by his daughter, Michelle | 6 | | L. Parsons; his son, Michael E. (Suzanne) Parsons; his | 7 | | grandsons, Patrick Parsons and Nicholas McMahill; his brothers | 8 | | and sisters, Don R. Parsons, Betty Louise Doll, Mary Lois | 9 | | Parsons, Sharon Ann Bean, and Judy Kay Tiffany; and several | 10 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Dale E. Parsons, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 14 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 15 | | further
