SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Douglas Behme of Worden, who passed away on April 29, 2016; and

WHEREAS, John Behme was born in Alton to John and Gail (Seeger) Behme on May 26, 1971; he attended Trinity Lutheran School in Worden and graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1989; he married Angela M. Redman at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden on September 7, 1996; and

WHEREAS, John Behme became an Operating Engineer at age 19 and worked for Tom Allen Construction in Edwardsville; he then worked for Keller Construction in Edwardsville for 14 years; and

WHEREAS, John Behme was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden and Operating Engineers Local 520 in Granite City; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, travelling, and hiking with his family; he and his son, Nick, restored old cars; he truly loved spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, John Behme was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary Ellen (Watsek) Behme; his maternal grandfather, Charles D. "Duke" Seeger; his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Helen (Neuhaus) Behme; and his best friend, Scott Cunningham; and

WHEREAS, John Behme is survived by his wife, Angela; his son, Nicholas Scott Behme; his daughter, Brooke Taylor Behme; his father, John W. Behme; his mother, Gail A. (Keith) (Seeger) Behme-Opel; his sister, Leann (Daniel) Behme Eckhardt; his niece, Ashley Eckhardt; his niece, Alicia Eckhardt; his nephew, Dillon Redman; his nephew, Chris McCoy; his father and mother-in-law, James L. and Jeannie S. (Harty) McCoy; his maternal grandmother, Mildred L. Seeger; his sister-in-law, Kimberly McCoy; his brother-in-law, Vince Redman; his brother-in-law, Shane (Debbie) McCoy; his paternal grandmother-in-law, Ann Redman; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, stepbrothers, and stepsisters; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John Douglas Behme, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Behme as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
