SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul J. Gerjol, who passed away on April 19, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gerjol was born on December 28, 1923 in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gerjol was a veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Bronze Star; his personal narrative of his wartime experiences was recently inducted into the Library of Congress; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gerjol was an avid golfer; he loved gardening his prized tomatoes, taking his motorhome on trips, and spending time with his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gerjol was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward and John Gerjol; and

WHEREAS, Paul Gerjol is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Janet; his children, Terry (Tom) Girmscheid and Andrew (Lindsay) Gerjol; his grandchildren, Ryan (Britta) Girmscheid, Derek, Byron, and Rachael Girmscheid, and Matthew and Nicholas Gerjol; his great-granddaughter, Iris; several nieces and nephews; and his loyal friend, Dan Tennett; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Paul J. Gerjol; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Gerjol as an expression of our sympathy.
