SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Patricia M. Moore, who passed away on
4March 13, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Patricia Moore was born on September 27, 1923 in
6Rice Lake, Wisconsin; her parents were William and Luella
7McLaughlin; she married Maynard L. Moore on April 24, 1943; and
 
8    WHEREAS, After graduating from high school, Patricia Moore
9attended the Milwaukee School of Business, where she earned a
10degree in business administration, specializing in office
11equipment and bookkeeping; she had a long and varied career,
12most recently at the Harvard State Bank, where she held several
13positions over a 20-year period, including Executive Secretary
14and Trust Officer; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Patricia Moore was very active in her community
16and church; she was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
17Auxiliary, the Harvard Hospital Auxiliary, and the Harvard
18Women of the Moose, where she served as Senior Regent; she
19served as secretary of the Mt. Auburn Cemetery Association;
20following her retirement, she volunteered at the food pantry
21and worked with Reading Pairs in the Harvard elementary
22schools; and

1    WHEREAS, Patricia Moore was a lifelong member of the First
2Presbyterian Church in Harvard, where she served on the Board
3of Deacons and did volunteer work in the church office; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Patricia Moore enjoyed dancing and socializing
5with her husband, cooking, and making beautiful clothes for her
6daughter and her friends' daughters; she also loved to travel
7and made several memorable trips to Europe to visit her
8daughter and son-in-law in Rambouillet, France; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Patricia Moore was preceded in death by her
10parents; her husband, Maynard; her sister-in-law, Catherine
11Klapel; and her niece, Bonnie Schmit; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Patricia Moore is survived by her daughter,
13Barbara (Francis) Tesse; her nephews, Michael Moore and Alan
14Akey; her great-niece; and her 3 great-nephews; therefore, be
15it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
18family and friends, mourn the passing of Patricia M. Moore; and
19be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
