SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gerald A. "Yogi" Bauman of Union, who passed away on March 22, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Bauman was born on October 14, 1941; his parents were Arnold and Bernice Bauman; he married Dora Munson Yardley on April 13, 1968; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Bauman was a proud 50-year member of the Laborers International Union of North America as an officer in various capacities; he also served as President/Business Manager of Local 1035 from 1994 until his retirement in 1998; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Bauman was a longstanding member with the Union Lions Club and Woodstock Moose Lodge 1329; he enjoyed boating, fishing, camping with his family and friends, playing golf, and watching the Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Bauman was preceded in death by his parents; his stepchildren, Mark Yardley and Dorene Yardley; and his grandson, Alexander Zank-Bauman; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Bauman is survived by his wife, Dora; his sons, Vernon (Tracy Vasquez) Bauman, Lowell (Dawn) Bauman, and Michael (Leticia Martinez) Bauman; his brother, Tom (Barbara) Bauman; his sisters, Carol (Richard) Swingle and Gloria Bauman; his grandchildren, Samuel Bauman, Amanda Bauman, Summer Bauman, Devon Gehrke, Austin Gehrke, and Corrin (Bryce) Prestwich; his great-grandson, Zayne Prestwich; and his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Gerald A. "Yogi" Bauman; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gerald Bauman as an expression of our sympathy.
