SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James L. Beard, who passed away on April 2, 2016; and

WHEREAS, James Beard was born to Bob and Dodie Beard on March 5, 1954; and

WHEREAS, James Beard attended high school in Northbrook and went to college at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; he attended law school at Chicago-Kent College of Law; and

WHEREAS, James Beard became a partner at DLA Piper and was recognized in the top-tier of real estate lawyers in Chambers USA; he was designated an Illinois Super Lawyer in real estate every year since 2005 and was named among the Top 10 Real Estate-Related Lawyers in Illinois; and

WHEREAS, James Beard is survived by his wife, Barby; his son, Nick (Kat); his daughter, Elle (Jake); and his siblings, Sally and Bob; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James L. Beard, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Beard as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
