SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael Bernard Jones of North Chicago, who passed away on March 12, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Michael Jones was born in Waukegan to Amos and Cleo Jones on March 10, 1960; he graduated from North Chicago Community High School in 1978, where he was All-County, All-State, and American Wrestling Champion; he graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics; he trained for the USA Olympics wrestling team; and

WHEREAS, Michael Jones worked for the Mitsubishi Corporation for many years; he opened IQ4U Catering in Bloomington; and

WHEREAS, Michael Jones was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers; he organized the first wrestling alumni gathering for his high school in 2015; and

WHEREAS, Michael Jones was preceded in death by his father, Amos Jones, and his brother, Larry Jones; and

WHEREAS, Michael Jones is survived by his mother, Cleo Jones; his two brothers, Ronald (Linda) Jones and Steve Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving family and friends; and his two special friends, Damon Tuner and Todd Hunter; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael Bernard Jones, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Jones as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
