SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Norman S. Schaid, Sr. of Woodstock, who passed away on December 22, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Norman Schaid, Sr. was born in McHenry to John and Katherine (Freund) Schaid on May 19, 1925; he married Vera Whipple in Richmond on November 20, 1943; and

WHEREAS, Norman Schaid, Sr. was a lifetime farmer in the area; he belonged to the McHenry County Farm Bureau, P.M.A., Wisconsin Dairies, and Genoa City CO-OP; and

WHEREAS, Norman Schaid, Sr. was active in McHenry County tractor-pulling contests, winning many first place trophies; he also loved to hunt and play cards; and

WHEREAS, Norman Schaid, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vera; his grandson, Jeremy Schaid; his two brothers, Elmer and Loren Schaid; and his son-in-law, Earl Bauman; and

WHEREAS, Norman Schaid, Sr. is survived by his two daughters, Sharon Bauman and Jane (Richard) Harrington; his seven sons, Norman (Michael Leckwee) Schaid, Jr., Jerry (Paulette) Schaid, Larry (Trudy) Schaid, Gary Schaid, John (Vicky) Schaid, Donald (Brian Rabe) Schaid, and Roger Schaid; his seven grandchildren, Kim, Danielle, Nicole, Trevor, Jason, Amy, and Jessica; and his eight great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Norman S. Schaid, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Norman Schaid, Sr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
