SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard "Dick" Thinnes, Sr., who passed away on January 15, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Richard Thinnes, Sr. was born in Chicago on January 4, 1934; and

WHEREAS, Richard Thinnes, Sr. owned and operated Thinnes Motor Services for 51 years; he owned Moe-B-Dicks North Shore Pub for 23 years; he was the proprietor of many other businesses throughout the years; and

WHEREAS, Richard Thinnes, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elenor Thinnes; his brother, Jerry; and his son, Gregory; and

WHEREAS, Richard Thinnes, Sr. is survived by his wife of 22 years, Maureen (nee Mueller); his children, Richard, Jr. (Bonnie) Thinnes and Tomi (Frank Pecoraro) Thinnes; his grandchildren, Michael (Lindsay Kvasnicka), Richard III (Amanda) Thinnes, and Dalton Schmidt; his great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kaylynn, Charlotte, Travis, Colton, and Allison; and his brother, Tom (Christine) Thinnes; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard "Dick" Thinnes, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Thinnes, Sr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
