SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Larry R. Bohn of Woodstock, who passed away on November 21, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Larry Bohn was born on October 29, 1940 in Woodstock; his parents were Ernest A. and Betty G. (nee Grobe) Bohn; he married Deanna K. Rahn on February 20, 1968; and

WHEREAS, Larry Bohn was a 1958 graduate of Woodstock High School; he graduated from Carthage College in 1962 with a degree in business; and

WHEREAS, Larry Bohn served in the United States Army as an Administrator in Anchorage, Alaska from 1963 to 1964; and

WHEREAS, Larry Bohn was a life member of Grace Lutheran Church and served as an Usher, a Deacon, and as President of the Sunday school; he taught Sunday school as well; he served on many Woodstock City boards, including the Library Board and the Site Plan Review Board; he was a dedicated Rotary member since 1978 and had a 36-year perfect attendance record; he served as President in 2002 and was a Paul Harris Fellow; and

WHEREAS, Larry Bohn was co-owner of Bohn's on the Square and Bohn's Ace Hardware from 1964 until his passing; he thoroughly enjoyed working at the store and spending time with his family at their cottage on the lake; and

WHEREAS, Larry Bohn was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son; and his brothers, Kenneth Bohn and Ernest E. Bohn; and

WHEREAS, Larry Bohn is survived by his wife, Deanna; his sons, Leon (Jennifer) Bohn and Seth (Caitlin) Bohn; his grandchildren, Tristan Bohn, Melia Bohn, and Jonnie-Rose Bohn; his brother, Harold (Jill) Bohn; his sisters-in-law, Ruth Bohn Hodges and Maggie Bohn; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Larry R. Bohn; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Bohn as an expression of our sympathy.
