SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Louis "John" Poi of Batavia, who passed away on February 13, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Louis Poi was born on March 12, 1935 in Winchester; his parents were Louis and Rosa (nee Dussard) Poi; and

WHEREAS, Louis Poi was a United States Navy veteran; and

WHEREAS, Louis Poi was a member of the American Legion, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Knights Templar, the Medinah Shriners, the James C. Lovig, Sr. Council, the Fox River Royal Arch, the Aurora Commandery, the WP Club of Chicago, KYCH, and the Batavia Vikings; he was also a Master Mason; and

WHEREAS, Louis Poi was preceded in death by his parents and his 9 brothers; and

WHEREAS, Louis Poi is survived by his wife, Juanita Poi; his daughter, Roxanne Russ; his sons, Mark Poi and Warren (Roz) Poi; his 4 granddaughters; his 2 great-granddaughters; his stepdaughters, Marla (Lewis) Kreager and Gina Baley (Cary Kerger); his stepson, Brian (Stacy) Baley; his 5 step-grandchildren; and his 5 step-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Louis "John" Poi; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Louis Poi as an expression of our sympathy.
