SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of George W. Fitzmaurice, who passed away on January 15, 2016; and

WHEREAS, George Fitzmaurice was born in Chicago on February 3, 1921; he graduated from Lane Tech High School in Chicago; he joined the United States Army Air Force and served in the European Theater during World War II; he married Helen Tulisalo in 1942 and was honorably discharged from the military on November 21, 1945; and

WHEREAS, George Fitzmaurice worked for United Airlines and later the Federal Aviation Administration for 22 years; and

WHEREAS, George Fitzmaurice married Joan Regelbrugge in 2001 after the passing of his wife of 58 years, Helen; and

WHEREAS, George Fitzmaurice is survived by his wife, Joan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of George W. Fitzmaurice, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George Fitzmaurice as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
