SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William Jefferson "Bill" Heatherly of Silvis, who passed away on December 31, 2015; and

WHEREAS, William Heatherly was born on August 1, 1929 to Thomas Jefferson and Julia Marie Coppock Heatherly; he served in the military during the Korean War and married Barbara Ann Vaughn on November 14, 1953; and

WHEREAS, William Heatherly was employed at East Moline Metal Products as a brake press operator and called himself "Mr. Fix It"; and

WHEREAS, William Heatherly took walks at the mall and enjoyed having coffee at Hardee's; he liked having a beer with his buddies and loved working on his cars, which were his prized possessions; most of all, he adored spending time with his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, William Heatherly was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his parents; his companion, Betty DeBruine; and his sisters, Nella Brooke and Betty Norris; and

WHEREAS, William Heatherly is survived by his daughters, Ginger (Josh) Lane and Dorraine (Dwayne) Young; his sisters, Doris Buchanan and Charlotte Brenneise; his grandchildren, Donald, Kristine, and Kristopher Harmon, Dylan Lane, Brit Atchison, and Tommy and Holly; and his great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Mathia; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William Jefferson "Bill" Heatherly, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Heatherly as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
