SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard R. "Rick" Groch, formerly of Mount Prospect, who passed away on January 3, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Richard Groch was born in Chicago to Harry and Jessie (nee Breski) Groch on June 6, 1930; he served in the military during the Korean War and married Marie LaBellarte in Chicago on May 16, 1954; he graduated from DeVry Technical Institute in 1958; and

WHEREAS, Richard Groch spent 37 years as an electrician with Illinois Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134 and a small business owner as an electrical contractor; and

WHEREAS, Richard Groch served his community as an Elk Grove Village Lion, serving as club President and District Treasurer; his lifelong hobby was HO scale model railroading; he was an Elmhurst Wagon Master and Del Webb Railroad Club member; and

WHEREAS, Richard Groch was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Richard Groch is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marie; his children, Richard, Jr. (Joyce), Jeffrey (Cyndee), David (Cheryl), Gayle (John) Wendt, and Tracey (Gavin) Hamilton; his grandchildren, Kevin, Ryan, Jessie, Daniel, Jeremy, Clare, and Joe Groch, Justin (Emily) Craddock, and Bradley Craddock; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard R. "Rick" Groch, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Groch as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
