SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dennis L. Doll, who passed away on October 13, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Doll was born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 21, 1941 to Lawrence and Mary Doll; he graduated from Leo High School in 1959 and Loyola University with a bachelor's degree in 1963 and a Master of Business Administration in 1971; he married Barbara Rivan on June 26, 1965; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Doll worked in healthcare for 30 years; he was the Director of the laboratory at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital and, before that, Director of the laboratories at Columbus, Cuneo, and Cabrini Hospitals; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Doll enjoyed golf, bridge, discussion club, gourmet club, and bicycling; he loved to travel, including taking regular vacations to Wisconsin and Minnesota with his family and trips to Hawaii and Alaska with his wife; he was a life-long Chicago White Sox fan and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church; he enjoyed spending time with his family and playing cards and board games with his children and grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Doll was the beloved husband of 50 years of Barbara; the father of Larry (Kerri) Doll, Danielle (Kurt) Zwolfer, Matt (Diane) Doll, and Mimi (Aaron) Modica; the cherished grandfather of Tim, Adam, Chris, Michael, Steve, Jeffery, Olivia, and Emmy Doll, Trixie and Vivien Zwolfer, and Gianna, Rivan, and Caleb Modica; and uncle to a host of nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dennis L. Doll, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dennis Doll as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
