SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John F. Miller of Hudson, who passed away
4on December 19, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Miller was born on April 12, 1933 in Normal;
6his parents were Carl F. and Carrie Lanter Miller; he married
7Judy A. Henderson on January 7, 1953 in Bloomington; and
 
8    WHEREAS, John Miller was proud to have served his country
9in the United States Army during the Korean War; he was the
10recipient of the Korean Service Ribbon, the United States
11Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Good
12Conduct Medal, and the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit
13Citation for his service; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Following his time in the Army, John Miller became
15a very gifted carpenter, working in this capacity until his
16retirement in 2000; he was also a member of the Carpenters
17Union in Bloomington; and
 
18    WHEREAS, John Miller enjoyed woodworking, raising and
19riding trail horses with his wife, camping, feeding birds in
20the winter, and taking family vacations; and

1    WHEREAS, John Miller was preceded in death by his sister,
2Irene Hyatt; and
 
3    WHEREAS, John Miller is survived by his wife, Judy; his
4children, Tom Miller, Tracy (Von) Saufley, and Tricia (Ritchie)
5Thompson; and his grandchildren, Kirstin and Laela Thompson,
6Cassie, Josie, Ethan, Austin, and Logan Saufley, and Griffin,
7Greydin, and Gavin Miller; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of John F. Miller; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of John Miller as an expression of our
14sympathy.
