SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Sylvia Yvonne Lux of Staunton, who passed away on December 21, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Sylvia Lux was born on January 16, 1943 in Granite City; her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Slavco Evangeloff; she married Larry J. Lux on January 11, 1970 in Madison; and

WHEREAS, Sylvia Lux worked as a Sales Associate at Sullivan Drugs in Staunton for many years; she was also the Proprietor of Sylvia's Gifts, Cards, & More in Staunton and taught at Granite City High School; and

WHEREAS, Sylvia Lux was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton, and a Board Member of Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton and the Staunton Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, Sylvia Lux was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; and

WHEREAS, Sylvia Lux is survived by her daughter, Sandy Lux (Mitch Turner); her granddaughter, Alexandra Turner; her sister, Marilyn (Don) Nichols; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Sylvia Yvonne Lux, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sylvia Lux as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
