SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard R. Harris of McHenry, who passed away on December 6, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Richard Harris was born in Chicago on June 30, 1944 to Robert and Agnes (nee Woehler) Harris; he graduated from Lane Technical High School in Chicago; he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from January of 1964 to December of 1966, receiving the Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals; he married Cynthia Schultz on August 17, 1968 in McHenry; and

WHEREAS, Richard Harris worked as a conductor on the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad; and

WHEREAS, Richard Harris was an avid reader and train collector; he enjoyed train history and reading Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy novels; and

WHEREAS, Richard Harris was preceded by his parents and his brother, Rex Harris; and

WHEREAS, Richard Harris is survived by his wife, Cynthia; his 2 daughters, Meredith (Donald) Sena and Nancy (Frank) Kowalski; his 3 grandchildren, Robert (fiance Alexandria Mineau) Harris and Tonya and Katrina Kowalski; his brothers; his sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard R. Harris, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Harris as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
