SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas "Wickie" Roy of Paxton, who passed away on November 22, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Roy was born in Tolono on December 21, 1943 to Thomas E. and Dorthy Wilson Roy; he attended Paxton schools and served in the United States Army as a mortar gunner in Korea; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Roy was a heavy equipment operator for 47 years and belonged to Operating Engineers, Local 841; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Roy was affiliated with the First Baptist Church SCB in Paxton and was a member of the I & I Tractor Club; he spent his life working with and showing draft mules, barrel racing, and doing anything and everything that had to do with horses; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Roy was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Roy is survived by his 2 sons, Michael (Cathy) Roy and Damon (Sara) Roy; his 2 grandsons, Colt and Brett; his 3 sisters, Kathie (Jerry) Houser, Deborah Roy-Payne, and Karren Bussey; and his 2 brothers, Murie (Elona) Roy and Rex (Linda) Roy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas "Wickie" Roy, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Roy as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
