SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Darren "Scott" Cooper of Lincoln, who passed away on August 14, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Darren "Scott" Cooper was born on July 7, 1965 in Lincoln; his parents were Robert S. Cooper and Eva Jane Beaver Ott; he married Lesley C. Wilson on June 1, 1991 in Lincoln; and

WHEREAS, Darren "Scott" Cooper was retired from the 183 Fighter Wing Air National Guard, where he served with pride for over 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Darren "Scott" Cooper was a retired parole supervisor for the State of Illinois; he also most recently served as the Mayor of Lincoln; and

WHEREAS, Darren "Scott" Cooper was a member of the Elks Club; he enjoyed spending time on the golf course, watching Cardinals baseball, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Darren "Scott" Cooper was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Ott; and

WHEREAS, Darren "Scott" Cooper is survived by his wife, Lesley; a daughter, Tori (Josh) Schacht; his father, Robert S. (Mary Ann) Cooper; his mother, Eva Jane Ott; his stepparents, Cecil and Myra Ott; a brother, Keith Ott; a sister, Brenda Tibbs; and 2 grandchildren, Makinley and Payton; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Darren "Scott" Cooper; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Darren "Scott" Cooper as an expression of our sympathy.
