SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Amy Beth Thomas of Savoy, who passed away on November 21, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Amy Thomas was born on September 15, 1975 in Champaign; her parents were Richard and Marie (nee Skoirchet) Govert; she married Jason Thomas on April 19, 2008 in Urbana; and

WHEREAS, Amy Thomas graduated from Urbana High School and Illinois State University, where she earned her master's degree in special education; and

WHEREAS, Amy Thomas was employed as a teacher in the Urbana School District for the last 18 years; and

WHEREAS, Amy Thomas loved reading and spending time with her daughter; and

WHEREAS, Amy Thomas is survived by her husband, Jason; her daughter, Madison Thomas; her parents; and her brother, Michael Govert; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Amy Beth Thomas; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Amy Thomas as an expression of our sympathy.
