SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Leonie M. Barrett of Johnsburg, who passed away on November 8, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Leonie Barrett was born in Waukegan on November 12, 1953 to Richard and Esther (nee May) Schneider; she married George Barrett on September 9, 1979 in Woodstock; and

WHEREAS, Leonie Barrett worked at Centegra Hospital-McHenry (NIMC) for 38 years in the Surgical Out Patient Unit; and

WHEREAS, Leonie Barrett was a faithful parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church; she enjoyed vacationing in Mexico with her husband and boating on the Fox River; she loved reading and swimming in her pool with her granddaughters; and

WHEREAS, Leonie Barrett was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Therese Johnson; and

WHEREAS, Leonie Barrett is survived by her husband of 36 years, George; her son, George R. (Nicole) Barrett; her 2 grandchildren, Brooklyn and Brianna; her 3 sisters, Bernadette (Bud) Messel, Celine (Leon) Haydam, and Pauline (Buck) Wolff; her brother-in-law, Richard Johnson; her 8 nieces; and her 5 nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Leonie M. Barrett, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Leonie Barrett as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
