SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marcella H. "Shippy" Filotto, who passed away on November 21, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Marcella Filotto was born in Lockport Township; her parents were William and Clara (nee Wilhelmi) Coyne; she married Francis Filotto on October 14, 1950 at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield; and

WHEREAS, Marcella Filotto attended Wilson School and graduated from Lockport Township High School with the Class of 1947; and

WHEREAS, Marcella Filotto was a former member of the Mother's Club at St. Andrew the Apostle School in Romeoville, St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, and the Will County Farm Bureau; and

WHEREAS, Marcella Filotto enjoyed reading, playing bingo, and crossword puzzles; and

WHEREAS, Marcella Filotto was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 27 years, Francis Filotto; her siblings, William (Eleanor) Coyne, Francis "Bud" (Shirley) Coyne, Mary (Frank) Kiernan, Evelyn (Carl) Hendrickson, Bob (Lorene) Coyne, and Pat (Nancy) Coyne; and her best friend, Mae Welsh; and

WHEREAS, Marcella Filotto is survived by her children, Robert (Deborah) Filotto, Mary Kathleen (Richard) Hall, Peggie Ann (Jeffrey) Conrad, and Jim (Penny) Filotto; her grandchildren, Megan (Matt) Bramson, Reid Filotto, Elizabeth (Tim) Slowinski, Stephanie (Zach) Wyman, Carolyn Hall, Kelly Conrad (fiance, Scott Elam), Staci (Doug) Marcis, Jaclyn Conrad (fiance, Nicholas Pullara), and Kevin, Jennifer, and Jake Filotto; her great-grandchildren, Annabelle and William Slowinski and Benjamin Bramson; her close cousin, Shirley Hamrick; her dear friends, Margie Howell and Jane McClintock; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Marcella H. "Shippy" Filotto; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marcella Filotto as an expression of our sympathy.
