SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Pauline Wilma Secrest Hamilton, who passed away on November 11, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Hamilton was born on April 25, 1911 in Pekin; her parents were Daniel and Helen (nee Soectig) Secrest; she was raised in Joliet; she later lived in South Bend, Indiana and lived in Conifer, Colorado from 1970 to 1976; in 1976, she moved back to Joliet to be closer to her family; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Hamilton was employed at Joliet Federal Savings and Loan for many years before retiring in Conifer, Colorado; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Hamilton was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and was especially proud of the volunteer time she spent with the Joliet Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Hamilton is preceded in death by her siblings, Warren, Willard (Rose) Secrest, Louise (Ira) Archey, Konred (Marie) Secrest, Magdalen (William) Stewart, Junette (John) Smeets, and Helen (Glen) Hart; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Hamilton is survived by her daughter, Elaine Hamilton Stonich; her grandchildren, Paige Stonich Vanderhyden and Michael Stonich; her great-grandchildren, Abbie, Jay, and Mark Vanderhyden; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Pauline Wilma Secrest Hamilton; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Pauline Hamilton as an expression of our sympathy.
