SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gregory Thomas "Greg" Mularz of Crystal Lake; and

WHEREAS, Greg Mularz graduated from Crystal Lake South High School in 1996, where he was a proud Gator, playing varsity hockey and football; he received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was a member of Illinois' Men's Club Ice Hockey Team; and

WHEREAS, Greg Mularz served in the United States Army with the 172nd Infantry, 1-2 BTN "Black Scarves", stationed in Grafenwohr, Germany; and

WHEREAS, Greg Mularz traded in his military career for a medical career, earning an Master of Social Work from Southern Illinois University's School of Social Work; as a proud veteran affairs specialist, he was able to lend a helping hand to his fellow vets, before serving as a drug and alcohol counselor at Rosecrance in Rockford; and

WHEREAS, Greg Mularz enjoyed long-distance running, authentic Mexican food, and The Grateful Dead; and

WHEREAS, Greg Mularz is survived by his parents, Thomas and Beth; his brothers, Michael and Thomas (Elizabeth); his sisters, Amelia and Marina; his nephews, William, Miles, and Mason; his grandparents, Stanley and Mary Jo; and many friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gregory Thomas "Greg" Mularz, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Greg Mularz as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
