SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas D. "Tom" Ward of McHenry, who passed away on September 14, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Tom Ward was born in Chicago on April 15, 1948 to Thomas L. and Helen (nee Yohanan) Ward; he graduated from Crown High School in Carpentersville in 1966 and served in the United States Air Force, serving 2 tours in the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Tom Ward retired from United Airlines; and

WHEREAS, Tom Ward enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and spending time with his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Tom Ward was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Sandra "Sandy" Ward; and

WHEREAS, Tom Ward is survived by his children, Chris (Keith) Swedberg, Scott Ward, and Tanya (George) Ward; his 5 grandchildren; and his brother, Richard Ward; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas D. "Tom" Ward, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tom Ward as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
