SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marlene Mary Ancel, who passed away on October 31, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Marlene Ancel was employed in the activity department at the Sunny Hill Nursing Home for 10 years; she also catered at St. Joseph Park for 23 years; and

WHEREAS, Marlene Ancel was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Will County Seniors, and the Wednesday and Thursday Seniors at St. Joseph Park; she was also a longtime parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet and found peace attending mass on Sunday and adoration chapel during weekday afternoons; and

WHEREAS, Marlene Ancel enjoyed bowling, attending picnics at St. Joseph Park, and spending time with her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Marlene Ancel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John, and her parents, William and Rose (nee Jaskowiak) Smith; and

WHEREAS, Marlene Ancel is survived by her loving children, Karen (Patrick) Briscoe, Randy (Gabriella) Ancel, Nancy Ancel Mitok, and John (Jodi) Ancel; her cherished grandchildren, Michael (Michele) Briscoe, Jeff (Lizzy) Ancel, Christine (Neil) Hodge, Kelley (Chuck) Hill, Jamie Eskridge, John J. Ancel, Jacob Ancel, and Zachary Mitok; her cherished great-grandchildren, Joey, Caiden, Charlie, Brooke, Jack, Kailen, Chelsea, Abigail, and Crew; her dear brother, William (Bernadine) Smith; and her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Marlene Mary Ancel; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marlene Ancel as an expression of our sympathy.
