SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Judith K. "Judy" Fues of Woodstock, who passed away on September 19, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Judy Fues was born in Chicago on August 4, 1940 to Philip and Lois (DeRosier) Kirchberg; her family moved to Lakewood and she attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School and Crystal Lake High School; she married Barry Fues in 1962 and they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, Judy Fues and her husband moved back to Illinois in 1964 and spent the next 14 years in Barrington before returning to Crystal Lake in 1978 with their 3 children; she spent time each year in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan; her children and grandchildren have continued that tradition today, spending their summers at the same northern woods, beaches, and Lake Michigan water where she did for 75 years; and

WHEREAS, Judy Fues attended, volunteered for, and was present at each and every sporting event, school function, and extracurricular activity of her grandchildren; she would throw a baseball, hit a tennis ball, ride on an inner tube, or allow herself to be pushed off a pier into the water - all in her love and devotion to her grandchildren; her other loves were gardening and the Catholic Church; she attended the weekly school mass of her granddaughters in the Western suburbs or the daily mass in her own St. Thomas the Apostle parish; she enjoyed weeding her garden and her flowers; and

WHEREAS, Judy Fues was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Judy Fues is survived by her husband of 53 years, Barry; her children, Amy Odom, Barry (Carri) Fues, and Jason (Maria) Fues; her grandchildren, Joseph, Kathleen, Maribella, and Gabriela; and her brother, Philip (Gail) Kirchberg; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Judith K. "Judy" Fues, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Judy Fues as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
